Local check neededIs the Jaecoo 7 SHS worth considering?
Our view. Jaecoo quotes 56 miles of WLTP electric range and DC charging from 30 to 80% in 20 minutes, which is more than many plug-in hybrids offer. The only independent result found is a five-star Euro NCAP rating; no independent range or fuel test could be read, so real-world economy is unconfirmed.

How far can it go?
The published reference is Up to 56 miles electric. WLTP, Jaecoo UK, SHS-P plug-in hybrid (Luxury and Black Luxury). ADAC's catalogue lists 90 km as maker data for the German 1.5 TGDI PHEV from 01/26. Compare it only with figures from the same test cycle. For a plug-in hybrid this is the electric-only range before the engine takes over.

How quickly does it charge?
The highest published DC figure is Up to 40 kW. DC, 30–80% in 20 minutes claimed; AC 6.6 kW, 25–100% in 2.7 hours. Jaecoo UK.. A peak rate is reached briefly; the average across a session is lower.
Home charging time depends on the energy added, the car’s AC limit, the charger and the supply. Estimate a session with this car’s battery.
What to check before buying
- Who is it for?
- Buyers who can charge at home or at work, want a plug-in SUV that can use DC chargers, and mostly make trips within its electric range.
- What needs checking?
- Real-world electric range and fuel use with an empty battery, as no independent figures could be confirmed. Make sure the car is the SHS-P plug-in, not the SHS-H self-charging hybrid or the petrol model. No recall record could be checked.
- What is the evidence?
- Official Jaecoo UK figures and a Euro NCAP five-star rating (2025) for the plug-in hybrid. No ADAC, NAF or other range test was found.
