Is the Ford Mustang Mach-E worth considering?

Our view. Edmunds' tests match the EPA figures closely, with a 2025 Premium AWD at 301 miles against 300, and NAF measured 18% below WLTP on a 2021 extended-range car in mild Norwegian winter weather. Charging is the weak point: Ford quotes about 32 minutes for 10–80%, NAF needed 45 minutes on an early car, and the recall list is long.

What to check before buying

Who is it for?
Buyers who want a five-seat electric SUV with real-world range close to its EPA rating and who mostly charge at home.
What needs checking?
NHTSA lists 22 recall campaigns for 2021–2026 cars, including high-voltage battery contactors on 2021–2022 cars, park-mode faults, door latches with a flat 12 V battery and a rear differential fault on 2021–2023 cars; check the work has been done. The NAF tests are on 2021–2022 cars.
What is the evidence?
EPA figures from fueleconomy.gov, Ford's US and UK sites, Edmunds range tests, NAF winter and summer range tests and a charging test, Euro NCAP, NHTSA crash ratings and the NHTSA recall database. Car and Driver says it has not run its 75 mph range test on a Mach-E.
