What to check before buying

Who is it for?
Families wanting a roomy, comfortable electric SUV with a long warranty, who mostly drive at town and country-road speeds.
What needs checking?
Motorway range: ADAC found high consumption at speed and blamed the aerodynamics. Range varies with trim and wheels (505–530 km WLTP), and charging tops out at 150 kW. The EV5 is not sold in the US, so there is no NHTSA recall record; UK DVSA records were not checked.
What is the evidence?
Official figures from Kia Ireland and Germany, a NAF summer range test and charging test, the ADAC Autotest, and Euro NCAP.
